About the RBE- Breton Experts Network
Our mission is to make consulting work well for the benefit of the final users and our clients.
We pursue this goal by:
• encouraging consulting businesses to comply with competition
• studying consulting market and recommending action where required
• empowering experts with the knowledge and skills to keep them informed and get the best value from them, and helping them resolve problems with consulting firms.
The RBE is a non-for-profit organisation, established by statute as an ASBL in Belgium (2002)
The RBE is an independent organisation. It is led by a Board consisting of a chairman, and three executive members, i.e. one general secretary and two directors.
Mission statement and objectives of the microfinance department/program
We improve the awareness of MFI members by working to bring about competitive and efficient expertise, by promoting mutualism and cooperatives practices, and by empowering the members with the knowledge and skills they need to make rational and informed decisions.
As a result, members benefit from improved value, choice and quality in microfinance products and services, and are much less likely to encounter problems.
When MFIs are working well, good businesses benefit to members. Members are protected from abusive banking practices and inappropriate regulations.
The MFI industry should encourage competitive financial markets, should foster greater productivity and innovation. Because of this, the RBE contribution to the MFI industry exceeds our cost.
Our organisation
The RBE works under a structure that is arranged by markets. This enables us to look more easily at whole markets and to use all the tools available to us to improve them if they are not operating effectively. We will use market studies and references, management, education and communication in whatever combination is appropriate.
Executive Office located in Brussels provides support to board members and is responsible for the RBE liaison with European Commission.
Senior staff
The RBE senior staff are:
Claude Guillemain: Chairman
Phill Gates: General Secretary
Bertrand de Reviers : Chief Economist
Hugues Hannon: General Counsel
